Here’s why I created
The Coffee Date
I created The Coffee Date in 2015 when I was 22 as a way to document my marketing journey. I had just accepted a marketing internship and had so much free time that I spent most of my time learning from experienced marketers and creators. I fell in love with blogging and began to build my community.
But, I felt so lonely. No one supported me.
I spent 8 hours at work and another 4 hours a day learning how to build my blog from the ground up. Weekends were spent watching webinars, weekdays were spent working on Instagram, Pinterest, and writing content.
Then, it hit me. I’m not the only one.
There were hundreds of women going at this alone. Women who wanted to leave their jobs but didn’t have the support of their spouses. Women who had to work long hours, come home, prepare dinner for their families, and sneak in an hour or two to work on their blog.
I had it easy. I was 22, I didn’t have a family to take care of. I didn’t have bills to pay. I had time to learn all of this stuff, to experiment without worry, to learn at my own pace. Not everyone had the same luxury.
